Classes of Membership

A) Advertisers: Any company that advertises in an out of home medium measured by Geopath.

Benefits of membership:

Advertisers can assess which out of home media are available in a given market and determine the best way to reach their media goals with out of home.

Since Geopath is a not-for-profit organization, its future direction is decided by its membership. As a member, advertisers also have the opportunity to participate on committees of interest and assist in setting the future direction of the organization.

B) Advertising Agencies: Any company that creates, prepares or buys and/or places out of home advertising on behalf of advertiser clients. If you sell media you are in the wrong category.

Benefits of membership:

With a membership in Geopath, advertising agencies have access to data that allows them to objectively plan their out of home buys before contacting out of home media companies.

Advertising agencies can assess out of home advertising with metrics defined by audience demographic, behavioral or purchase data, in-market and total impressions, geographically sensitive reach and frequency, and the ability to represent the medium using the same language as other media.

When buying specific locations, agencies can compare the ratings for all Geopath audited inventory with what is provided by the out of home media companies, thus providing a measure of accountability to the buying and selling process.

Since Geopath is a not-for-profit organization, its future direction is decided by its membership. As buyers of out of home media, agency members will have the opportunity to participate on committees of interest for their clients and assist in setting the future direction of the organization.

C) Associate Advertising Agencies: Any general agency company that plans across media types for advertiser clients. If you sell media, you are in the wrong category.

Benefits of membership:

With an Associate Advertising Agency membership in Geopath, an agency will have access to market level data the allows them the ability to include out of home advertising into strategic planning, set true media goals for out of home, and mix it with other media.

D) Out of Home Media Companies: Any company that operates out of home media units. Current formats Geopath audits include: Bulletins, Street Furniture, Bus Interiors/Exteriors, Ferry Interiors, Rail Interiors/Exteriors, and Station Interiors.

Benefits of membership:

For out of home media companies, membership in Geopath provides their entire organization with essential information required by media buyers for conclusive buying decisions. The use of true media metrics based on audited data makes their presentations to prospective buyers more relevant, credible and useful for comparisons with competitive media.

Geopath ratings can demonstrate delivery of out of home advertising to target specific audiences based on demographic, behavioral, or purchase data, calculate target rating points using in-market impressions and standard market definitions, and provide geographically sensitive reach and frequency, all applicable to the audience seeing the advertising, not merely having the opportunity to do so.

Since Geopath is a not-for-profit organization, its future direction is decided by its membership. As sellers of out of home media, out of home media members will have the opportunity to participate on committees and assist in setting the future direction of the organization.

E) Non-Measured Out of Home Media Companies: Any company that operates out of home media units whose audience is not currently measure by Geopath.

Benefits of membership:

For non-measured out of home media companies, membership in Geopath allows them to have input into how their media type is measured and to be part of the development process before the measurement is released to the industry.

F) Remarketers: Any company that through their own proprietary software system provides transactional based or programmatic advertisement purchasing capabilities that enable or facilitate the buying, selling, or placement of out of home media.

Benefits of membership:

As a member of Geopath, remarketers have access to the data they need to power their proprietary software. In addition to ratings data, they also have access to demographic, behavioral, and purchase data that provides a deeper level of granularity that allows them, and their clients, to uncover additional insights on their audience.

G) Third Party Processors: Any company that provides software services and/or applications to Geopath members that directly relates to the planning, selling, or buying of out of home media.

Benefits of membership:

As a member of Geopath, third-party processors have access to the data they need to help power their software and applications. In addition to ratings data, they also have access to demographic, behavioral, and purchase data that allows Geopath members using their tools to uncover deeper insights on their audience.

H) Associate Members: Any company that does not fall into any of the above categories, such as industry research partners, academic institutions, international entities, creative agencies, and other entities as determined by our board of directors.

Benefits of membership:

As an Associate member, organizations will have access to Geopath information and thought leadership content and have a voice within the industry by interacting with other members at Geopath events and through participation in select member committees.
